In this project, my goal was to learn the process of bringing a 2D design to life through 3D modelling and texturing.

The final product could then be used to create high-quality renders, as well as in-game assets.

Experimenting with different lighting effects in Blender

 

Inspired by the Sci-Fi prowess of the Protoss from Starcraft and the agile movement of Warframe and Destiny, I wanted to design a character that felt sleek and stylish, despite having the same futuristic and armored aesthetic of races such as the Terran or the Space Marines.

After finishing the basic character model in Zbrush, I brought the project to Blender to fully map and bake the textures. Afterwards, I used Substance Painter to experiment with different textures, then finally returning to Blender for rendering.
